It seems there’s a new fad for young celebrities these days, getting stick thin aka skinny. I am a teeny-weeny bit happy on one hand because maybe finally, the obscene obsession with big bottomed women would finally peter out. Phew! On the other hand though, when people lose a lot of weight rapidly, especially if they didn’t need to in the first place, there’s always an underlying problem. When we lose more weight than we ought to, our heads kind of sits rather weirdly on our bodies giving us the big-headed look, or we start to look frail.

Rihanna used to be slender but had curves in all the right places, now she’s whittling down right before our eyes and there’s definitely something wrong. I don’t think it’s just the marijuana, I’ve heard that it actually makes you hungry, so that’s ruled out. Unless she’s taking hard drugs, cocaine, crystal meth, etc would make you lose weight and stay skinny. Which is why it’s such a winner with models. So ‘fess up Riri, what gives?

A 27-year old Nigerian, John Adetokunbo, has been remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri for allegedly bathing three friends with a substance believed to be raw acid. The incident happened during a fight at Ajasa Command area of Ipaja, Lagos State.

Adetokunbo was arrested by the police and charged before a Lagos Magistrate’s Court sitting at Abule-Egba for the alleged offence. The victims, Jamiu Akogu, Basiru Usman and Waisu Mufutau were seriously burnt as a result of the attack and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

It was gathered from police sources that the three friends while riding a motorcycle, hit Adetokunbo who plies the area with his tricycle popularly called Keke NAPEP.

An argument ensued between them on who was right or wrong and resulted in a fight. It was during the scuffle that Adetokunbo allegedly brought a bottle of raw acid he kept in his tricycle and poured it on the victims.

He was arrested and taken to the police station.

During interrogation, Adetokunbo could not explain why he kept raw acid in his tricycle which he poured on the victims. He was charged to court for the alleged offence.

The prosecutor, Mr. R. Williams said the offence the defendant committed was contrary to section 243 of the Criminal Code Law of Lagos State 2011. When the charge was read to him, he pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mr. O. A. Komalefe granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The matter has been adjourned till 20 February, 2013. He is to be remanded in prison custody till he perfects his bail condition.
